My name is Martin Gross and I live in Germany. First time I came in contact with the Dobro steel guitar was when I travelled the United Staates in 1978. As a guitar player I was fascinated by the resonator sound of this instrument and the technique how it is played with the steel bar.
Over the years playing the Dobro in different bands, jam sessions, on stage or recordings, I started to design and produce my own gear for this rare instrument.

When talking about the resonator guitar most people use the word “Dobro” which is a collective term for all resonator guitars. Dobro is a registered trademark owned by Gibson.

handmade guitar straps and capos
At work I deal a lot with leather, sewing machines, metal hardware and everything else that is needed to make a nice instrument strap. And that’s what I’ve been doing since 1973, when I made my very first strap. And today each of my instruments has it`s own custom made strap.
Also, I’ve always had a problem with Dobro capos, just never could find the “right” one. So I decided to make my own. This has been an ongoing process for many years, and at this stage I believe I’ve finally nailed it.
